Avocado strips
- Age: 6–8 months (First tastes)
- Texture: Finger food
- Prep: 2 min
- Cook: 0 min
- Makes: 1 portion
Ingredients
- 1/2 ripe avocado
Contains: None of the common allergens
Method
- Cut the avocado half into thick strips, skin left on one end for grip if you like.
- Hand one over and let your baby squash and gnaw it.
Safety: Ripe and soft. Always sit your baby upright and stay with them while they eat.
Storage: Serve fresh.
Tip: Slippery is the problem with avocado. Rolling the strip in a little fine oat or ground almond makes it grippable — or leave a band of skin on.
