Apple oat porridge
- Age: 6–8 months (First tastes)
- Texture: Purée
- Prep: 2 min
- Cook: 5 min
- Makes: 1 portion
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp fine oats
- 120 ml your baby's usual milk
- 2 tbsp apple purée
Contains: Wheat
Method
- Cook the oats in the milk over low heat 4–5 minutes, stirring, until soft.
- Stir in the apple purée off the heat.
- Cool to lukewarm.
Safety: Fine oats, cooked soft. No salt and no sugar. A baby's kidneys cannot handle added salt, and nothing here needs it.
Storage: Serve fresh.
Tip: The porridge most babies end up eating every morning. Any fruit purée from the freezer works in place of the apple.
