Roasted root batons
- Age: 8–10 months (New textures)
- Texture: Finger food
- Prep: 6 min
- Cook: 30 min
- Makes: plenty
Ingredients
- 1 carrot
- 1 parsnip
- 1/2 sweet potato
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Contains: None of the common allergens
Method
- Heat the oven to 200 °C. Cut everything into finger-length batons.
- Toss in the oil and roast 25–30 minutes, turning once, until soft right through.
- Cool completely before serving.
Safety: Check each baton squashes between your fingers. Always sit your baby upright and stay with them while they eat.
Storage: Fridge 2 days.
Tip: Three vegetables, one tray. Roasting makes them sweeter than steaming, and softer inside than they look.
