Soft melon strips
- Age: 6–8 months (First tastes)
- Texture: Finger food
- Prep: 3 min
- Cook: 0 min
- Makes: 1 portion
Ingredients
- 1 wedge ripe cantaloupe or honeydew melon
Contains: None of the common allergens
Method
- Cut the melon off the rind and into finger-length strips as thick as your finger.
- Hand one over cold from the fridge.
Safety: Ripe and soft; strips, never balls or cubes. Always sit your baby upright and stay with them while they eat.
Storage: Fridge 1 day, cut.
Tip: Cold melon is soothing on teething gums and soft enough to gum. It is mostly water, so it counts as a drink as much as food.
