First oat porridge

First oat porridge

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp fine oats
  • 120 ml your baby's usual milk

Contains: Wheat

Method

  1. Cook the oats in the milk over low heat 4–5 minutes, stirring, until thick and soft.
  2. Loosen with more milk to a smooth, spoonable texture.
  3. Cool to lukewarm.
Safety: Fine oats, cooked soft. No salt and no sugar. A baby's kidneys cannot handle added salt, and nothing here needs it.
Storage: Serve fresh.
Tip: The plainest breakfast there is, and the base for every fruit purée in this app. Oats carry the wheat marker because most are milled alongside wheat; gluten-free oats do not.
