Salmon and sweet potato purée
- Age: 6–8 months (First tastes)
- Texture: Purée
- Prep: 5 min
- Cook: 12 min
- Makes: 2 portions
Ingredients
- 40 g skinless salmon fillet
- 1 small sweet potato
- 1–2 tbsp your baby's usual milk
Contains: Fish
Method
- Peel, dice and steam the sweet potato 12 minutes; add the salmon for the last 8 until it flakes.
- Flake the salmon and check twice for bones by hand.
- Blend with the milk until smooth.
- Cool to lukewarm.
Safety: Check for bones by hand, not by eye, and do it twice.
Storage: Fridge 1 day. Do not refreeze fish that was frozen raw.
Tip: The first oily fish. Sweet potato makes salmon sweet enough that most babies take it straight away.
