Mini turkey meatballs
- Age: 10–12 months (Self-feeding)
- Texture: Finger food
- Prep: 10 min
- Cook: 10 min
- Makes: 12 meatballs
Ingredients
- 150 g turkey mince
- 1 small apple, grated
- 2 tbsp fine oats
- 1 pinch dried thyme
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Contains: Wheat
Method
- Mix the mince, apple, oats and thyme with your hands until it holds together.
- Roll into balls smaller than a walnut, then flatten each slightly into a disc.
- Cook in the oil over medium heat, turning, 8–10 minutes until no pink remains inside.
- Cool and serve whole or halved.
Safety: Flattened into discs, not left as balls — a round meatball is a choking shape. Cut one open to check there is no pink. Always sit your baby upright and stay with them while they eat.
Storage: Fridge 2 days, freezer 1 month.
Tip: The grated apple keeps turkey from drying out and adds sweetness that babies go for.
