Pear purée

Pear purée

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe pears

Contains: None of the common allergens

Method

  1. Peel, core and chop the pears.
  2. Steam 6–8 minutes until translucent and completely soft — a ripe pear needs very little.
  3. Blend smooth. It will be loose enough on its own; no liquid needed.
  4. Cool to lukewarm.
Safety: No salt and no sugar. A baby's kidneys cannot handle added salt, and nothing here needs it.
Storage: Fridge 2 days, freezer 1 month.
Tip: Pear is the gentlest first fruit — mild, rarely refused, and easy on a new digestion. A very ripe pear can simply be mashed raw.
