Pea, mint and potato mash
- Age: 8–10 months (New textures)
- Texture: Mash
- Prep: 4 min
- Cook: 12 min
- Makes: 2 portions
Ingredients
- 1 small potato
- 4 tbsp frozen peas
- 2 leaves fresh mint, chopped fine
- 1 tsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp your baby's usual milk
Contains: None of the common allergens
Method
- Peel, dice and steam the potato 12 minutes; add the peas for the last 3.
- Mash with the mint, oil and milk, squashing the peas.
- Cool to lukewarm.
Safety: Peas squashed, not left whole. Mash with a fork, not a blender, and leave soft lumps — at this age lumps are the point.
Storage: Fridge 2 days.
Tip: Mint is the first herb most babies meet, and peas are its natural partner.
