Slow pulled pork with apple
- Age: 12–18 months (Family food)
- Texture: Family meal
- Prep: 10 min
- Cook: 180 min
- Makes: 2 adults and 2 children
Ingredients
- 500 g pork shoulder
- 2 apples, chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 200 ml unsalted stock
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 4 small wholemeal rolls
Contains: Wheat
Method
- Put everything except the rolls in a casserole; cover and cook at 150 °C for 3 hours until the pork falls apart.
- Shred with two forks and stir into the juices.
- Serve in rolls, or on rice; salt the adults' portions.
Safety: Cooked right through, with no pink. Shredded fine. Serve your child's portion first, then salt the rest for the adults.
Storage: Fridge 3 days, freezer 2 months.
Tip: Three hours in the oven and no attention. Pork cooked this long shreds soft enough for a one-year-old.
